Year 2 local area work
Year 2 have been studying our local area in Geography. We have been looking at all of the different physical and human features we have in our area. We will be conducting some fieldwork in a few weeks time with a visit to Corporation Park.
No Laminating Campaign
Our Year 6 children are campaigning to stop teachers laminating as it is bad for our world. They have persuaded the teachers to have a No Laminating January. Please see our video : {youtube:rSwoit3UAxU}
Ingleborough Caves
Year 3/Year 4 had a brilliant trip to Ingleborough caves. They have been studying rocks and soils. They also saw a moorland habitat.
Year 6 activity holiday Feb 2023
Year 6 visited High Adventures in Yorkshire. They stayed for two nights. They had the opportunity to take part in climbing activities, orienteering, archery and teambuilding games.
Martin Mere Trip
On a very wet Wednesday Year 1 and 2 went on a trip to Martin Mere.
Year 5 Outdoor Elements
Fabulous day developing our outdoor skills and teamwork.
Year 3 /Year 4 Outdoor Elements
Year 3/Year 4 enjoyed an activity day at Outdoor Elements. They enjoyed archery, orienteering and climbing. They also developed their teamwork skills. Being outside and being active was also brilliant for their mental health and wellbeing.
Bear Found
Reception children went on a bear hunt around our school to find a bear. They had fun exploring the parts of our school that they had not seen yet.
KS1 visit to Formby
On Tuesday 14th June, Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a trip to Formby Beach as part of our work in Geography on Coasts. We had so much fun paddling in the sea and playing in the sand. The day was warm and the sun was shining - perfect beach weather.
Habitat Study in Year 4 in the River Ribble Estuary
Y4 visited @RSPB_Ribble and did some superb work learning about habitats, especially the mudflat habitat of the Ribble estuary. This was the start of our new habitats topic and the end of our rivers topic from last half term.
Year 6 Digimaps-London
Year 6 have been preparing for their trip to the Houses of Parliament using Digimaps/

Year 4 used digimaps to follow River Blakewater from its source to the sea.

Walk to the park-Reception class
Reception really enjoyed their walk to Corporation park today! We looked at buildings in our local environment, practised being safe pedestrians and finally looked for signs of spring! A very busy afternoon!
